Elle Lomeli, a sophomore at Buchanan High in California, took third in the Bill Buettner girls championship race at the 43rd ASICS Clovis Invitational by clocking 17:28.1 on the 5-kilometer layout at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. Buchanan was unable to have five athletes finish and did not score as a team.
