Elle Lomeli, a junior at Buchanan High in California, won the Division 1 girls title at the Central Section Championships by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 17:44.05 at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. Lomeli helped Buchanan sweep the top five spots to capture the program's seventh consecutive Division 1 crown and 25th girls team championship overall with a 15-61 victory against Clovis North. The Bears are seeking a fourth straight Division 1 title Nov. 25 at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park.
