Hilton Green, a senior at Buchanan High in California, won the boys pole vault title with a second-attempt clearance at 16-6 ((5.02m) after missing one attempt at 16-2 (4.92m) at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Green became the first pole vaulter in state history to capture a championship at his home venue.
